Mike Goulette`s ...    "Quiet Juan"

It`s electric....      a twin rotor....     and it hovers in a breeze!

Here are a few pictures of my new twin rotor gyro, 'Quiet Juan'. We intend to publish the plan in EFI when it is debugged.   Power is a Czech manufactured Mega S7 electric motor and 12-14 Sanyo cells.   The 30'' dia rotors are either end of a 32'' span stub wing and the fuselage is 37'' long.   All up weight is just over four pounds.

It flies well on surprisingly little power and will hover happily in a breeze.   The rotors have a 1/4'' thick proper airofoil which helps, I guess.

The photos are of the first flight before I fitted the landing gear and I subsequently broke a rotor and the wing on a hard landing.   The gear is now fitted and will hopefully provide some shock absorption.

All the repairs are done, I just need some decent weather!
