"GYRACE " .....a twin rotor design by England`s David Boddington.   This is an excellent beginner model, reasonably easy to build, and fly... and capable of performing some aerobatics.   The original design was a decent model, however it featured highly in-efficient rotors sporting flat "paddles" for blades.   It can also be unnecessarily/easily built heavy, especially on the tail end.   So some changes in these areas can make it a super flying model for all to enjoy.
The two models shown in the following photos, incorporating many of the suggested changes, were built and being flown by Jack Ronda and Fred Seiler of Sequim, Washington.

Here`s Jack and his colorful Gyrace..... No orientation problem here!

Note the modified tail feathers and rotor blades.  Jack has completed a masterful covering job!

On the left is Jack`s buddy Fred Seiler, showing off his beautilful Gyrace also... These models appear to be identical in construction, however each one completed his slightly different.   Both models fly very well.

Here`s a good comparison of these two models.. Both colored for good orientation.  The yellow will show well in flight, however the red model with white blades & tail may actually be easier to maintain flight orientation?

Excellent photo showing the super neat color scheme Jack applys to his models.

Nice close-up of the pilot .   It`s all the attention to detail gives a model a 'professional' appearance... excellent workmanship Jack!

Here is Jack`s original aluminum hub design.... efficient and good looking.   Jack also believes the use of ball bearings, versus the original brass sleeve over wire, is a key to improved flight performance.

Please Note: Jack`s Gyrace incorporates most of the recommended changes for the basic Gyrace design which greatly improves the models capability to fly slower and hover in a light wind...
