ECDC Gyro

This is a .25 powered, 50" rotor span, 45 ounce model autogyro incorporating direct servo control of the rotor tilting for primary guidance. Rudder and elevator can be mixed in with the rotor tilt, or the model can be flown by rotor movement only.

This was an adaptation of the Emilio Cabezas direct control head & rotor system. It could be hand launched in a light breeze, or launched from the ground.    This model exhibited a strange quirk of flying in a constant skid... which was eventually attributed to the style of tail used, and a slight rudder trim was required.   Built by Jim Baxter, Spokane, WA. -
