Autogyro Fly-in .... Martinsville, Indiana June, 1998
Page
GyroNut Rick Anderson hosted this first of a hoped for series of three day fly-in events near his home in Gosport, Indiana. Gyromodelers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Washington, Indiana, Arizona, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Ontario (Canada) enjoyed wonderful mid-west hospitality while spending 3 days of hot summer flying near Martinsville, Indiana... southeast of Indianapolis.
A much wider variety of models were brought to this fly-in than any fly-in before... A few old favorites such as the Whistler and Gyrace, along with the new Suitcase Minnie, and sport scale Cierva C.4`s, and a Kellett. A twin aircraft conversion "Prairie Gyro", a deBolt gyro, a DC Matilda, and a Falcon Gyro all flew.... One Kombat Kopter was noted, which did not fly... Host Rick Anderson brought his large "Gyro Stick", and Leon Wolfe demonstrated his unusual flying stick.. the "Charybdis "
